Welcome to this new layout of the XR Nelson Newsletter! You may have seen the headlines that “12 years to save the planet” were the good old days. There is now a growing consensus that the next 18 months will be critical in dealing with the climate and ecological breakdown. I don’t think there is any need in spelling out what this means other than that this makes it crucial to take action now! The aim of this newsletter is to provide information about ways to get involved on a local but also national level.
Join us at the REBEL FOR LIFE PARTY on 16th August at the Boathouse! There will be live music by local group Lemongrass, as well as a raffle and information about Extinction Rebellion.

This is the big one, rebels! XRNZ is calling all Aotearoa rebels to Wellington for five days of action. There will be a safe and friendly Rebel Camp and hard hitting and strategic Non Violent Direct Action. There will be training and community building, singing, dancing and stacks of fun.
