Non-violent Action Training

Saturday November 11th. 10-4 pm

Friends House 113 Mt Eden Rd.

Expect to get involved in fun and challenging exercises and discussions – this is not a lecture! The training will also be valuable for team building, and building solidarity and trust between people, so feel encouraged to come if you’ve already done a training or aren’t even sure if you want to ever do non-violent direct action.

The training is free. Vegan kai will be provided. Details of the training including venue address will be emailed to you at the email you entered in this form. Thanks for signing up! PS, Register via this link – clicking going on Facebook event is not enough to register you.

Slow March

Monday November 13th 10-2 pm

Meeting at Myers Park

The slow occupation of public spaces may be experienced as provocative by some, but this means it is harder for our demands and climate breakdown to be ignored.

Come with an open mind and be prepared to try out a different sort of march than you may be used to. There will be various roles to suit everyone. Suitable for ages 16 years and over.

From 10-12, we’ll do two hours of training, prep, and practice in non-violence. Then we’ll share some vegan kai (provided), and move out onto the streets. Please come on time with your enthusiasm and beautiful non-violent spirit. Bring some friends, or make some new friends at the event.

END Urban SUVs www.endurbansuvs.org

Get the stickers then onto the street and on the worst emitting SUVs in the cities. A starter pack is only $10. Email [email protected]

Urban SUVs are killing people, killing the planet https://theecologist.org/2021/apr/07/what-actual-truck. Aotearoa New Zealand is failing in emissions reductions commitment, and the clean care rebate isn’t enough.

We need someone able to do a wee bit of work for this campaign: we have the stickers ready for mailing. We need someone to mail them out when there is an enquiry. Not much to do. Say an hour or so a week.

Free Palestine

We had a great discussion at the Zoom meeting on Monday. This is what we agreed:

While we will be supportive of the Palestinian struggle, it’s not our struggle. We actively see the links of colonization, neoliberal capitalism and the climate crisis. We abhor all wars the continuing stockpiling of weapons throughout the world. We acknowledge the violence in Myanmar, Ukraine, Yemen, Democratic Republic of Congo, and more. This not our primary Kaupapa, it’s not part of our mandate. We do stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people. XR members are attending the rallies in Tāmaki Makaurau with XR flags. The flags are kept at the back ensuring the Palestinian flags are up front.

The Rebel Clown Workshop

Ponsonby Community Centre

Saturday 2nd December 1 – 6pm & Sunday 3rd December 11 – 5pm

Investment: $225-250 (1sr 5 registrants $195) register: [email protected]

Join Activist Clown and founder of the Bristol Clown School, Robyn Hambrook for a two day workshop exploring the powerful personal, political and poetic possibilities of clowning.
In the interplay of dreams and reality, the clown dances the liminal spaces between. The clown embodies our Utopian visions creating a unique encounter blending the imagination, the subversive, and the everyday.
Our two day deep dive explores the dynamics clowning; from the deeply regenerative practice of play, presence and pleasure to the liberation in being ridiculous, transgressive and rebellious.
