End Fossils Fuels

The oil lobby at COP28 won: Phasing out will not keep the planet liveable.

IPSOS research identified that 80% of us kiwis are concerned about the climate. The Uni of Akl Attitudes and Values study found the same, and also found that only 3.5% of us are climate deniers. We now need this awareness to influence decision makers with urgency.

April 5 School Strike 4 Climate

Toitū Taiao Toitū Te Tiriti O Waitangi Toitū Free Palestine

Climate justice requires us to go to the causes and we find commonality with Māori and Palestinian struggles. It is all connected. Climate change requires system change. This is why, internationally, Extinction Rebellion calls for a new stage of democracy with citizens assemblies. We are so fortunate in Aotearoa that Māori have done a lot of work on system change captured in the document Matike Mai.

Therefore, we are joining with Fridays for Future on the climate strike with three demands: Climate justice, Honour Te Tiriti O Waitangi and Palestinian justice.

Nāku, nāhau ka ora ai tātou. Ko te mahi me tōna hua e rite ana, e tika ana. Kia ngākau nui, kia hākoakoa, kia pai te wairua i roto i ēnei mahi, i ēnei āhuatanga katoa.

With your assistance and mine we will survive. The labour and results are one and the same, and valid. Be valiant and resolute, be buoyant, let your spirit be tranquil in these efforts, in all of these circumstances.
