Halloween Rebellion (Auckland)
October 19, 2019, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Kia Ora Rebels!
Halloween is just around the corner and it has inspired us a visual, spooky (and fun!) action.
Here’s the plan: We’ll have zombie face make up and costumes (white bloody shirt, dark trousers) and we’ll do a silent march around Ponsonby to “cheer up” the mood just as people are going out for dinner or drinks. We’ll also be holding lanterns and tombstone-shaped placards with “R.I.P. – died in X manner related to climate change”.
Along our group of zombies, a few people looking more presentable (no make up, XR t-shirts/XR hi viz) will give flyers to passers by.
Meet us at 6:30 pm at Western Park (entrance to the park on Ponsonby Rd) and we’ll do our make up together and head out for our Halloween Rebellion.
We’ll have around 20 shirts to hand out, about 10 lanterns and a few flags and placards.
Please let us know on the facebook event if you are able to provide:
– Face make up
– Battery candles and/or glass lanterns (not the paper kind)
– Tombstone placards with your epitaph/how you died (tied to a stick so you can have it in one hand and your lantern in the other)
– Black and white XR flags
– Printed themed flyers (available soon)
It will be spooktacular! (lame Halloween pun was unavoidable)
P.S: The reason it is not on the 31/10 is because we wanted it to be a Saturday night and not during the long weekend when everyone is away.
