Ineos: withdrawn All Blacks sponsorship

SUCCESS: We are delighted that this inappropriate All Blacks sponsorship is no longer. That our top sports team and related teams were not sponsored by a relevant business, but by a petrochemical company was well just wrong. Our top sports people are icons of health and fitness. INEOS is a world leading petrochemical company. They say they are needing to withdraw from many of their sponsorships because of the ‘crippling’ carbon tax in the European Union. We say time for an appropriate sponsor of our top athletes.

Film: Climate Commons:
A NZ Documentary on climate change

March 7th. 5.30-7.30 2 Abbey St Newton (Off K’Rd)

‘Climate Commons’ is not just a film – it’s a powerful call to action.

How can we act locally to address the crisis and create a sustainable future? The film presents fascinating stories about climate action, strategies for adaptation and mitigation in Aotearoa. A determined mother documents these inspiring tales, igniting practical climate action and driving policy change. Her journey offers intriguing insights into addressing the climate crisis, revealing a path towards a sustainable future.

Local Body Elections

Please join us to get excitement for changing the system the easy way: first step is voting.

We will not tell people who to vote for. But we will:

  • Identify policies that are consistent with the XR demands,
  • Have street stalls, street agitprop theatre
  • Work with other groups running similar campaigns
  • Plus the usual: Posters, stickers, buttons etc.

Extinction Rebellion Principle Ten:

Love for all life is important, and people should take time to mourn the deaths of their descendants, their people, and their loved ones. From pain comes the work of resolving the issue in a just manner.

Loving kindness to all life and life systems is paramount, it is just that we devote time to mourn the loss of our siblings, of nations, of all life. From utter grief proper action will emerge to truly remedy our condition.
