Fast Track Actions ongoing
There is so much happening around the Motu to help this deaf government understand 80% of the population are concerned about the climate, we did not vote for a War on Nature. We are adding to the chorus targeting relevant members of parliament electoral offices. Please contact us directly for the next action.
This link is a great discussion getting the difference between exploitative and relational approaches to the environment with a critique of the Fast Track Bill from a Māori perspective.

Parnell Festival of Roses
Our first outreach for the festival season. We are joining WILPF (Women’s International League of Peace and Freedom) with a gazebo. We need people to help Lyndon and Tara to talk with the crowds, inviting people to use stickers, badges etc, to sign up for climate action action, to make donations. And to enjoy the festive fun.

Hikoi mo te Tiriti
We are joining with Toitū te Tiriti for the Tāmakai Makaurau leg of Te Hikoi. With the attacks on Māori, nature, health, education, social services the civil service and more, we the people are rising up. This Hikoi needs a show of strength.
Extinction Rebellion from inception has called for system change. Democracy has been subverted by capitalist vested interests and brought us to this climate crisis. In Aotearoa, Māori have been working for constitutional change over years. Extinction Rebellion Aotearoa sees the vision for constitutional change in Matike Mai as an important way forward for democracy here.
Therefore, we invite all Rebels to join us for this leg of Hikoi mot e Tiriti.

Humanity is on the verge of‘shattering Earth’s natural limits’,
Just to keep you up to date with the situation on the climate crisis:
Writers Group
We have a small group who have fortnightly zooms to support and encourage each other in writing letters. This can be a favourite news outlet, magazine or social media. And getting letters to MPs, Local body councilors and more. All these actions are enhanced by keeping the climate crisis and the Luxon Government War on Nature visible in the public eye.
80% of us are concerned about the climate (IPSOS & UoA Attitudes and Values Study, 2023). But we are not visible enough. You can do this from your home. Text Jill 02102570468.
Entrust Voting
There is still time to vote – just! You will need to take your paper to a voting box today tomorrow or the next day.
Last time the Entrust board was elected with less than 10% of the vote. The ‘Better’ team want to shake up Entrust to focus on making power more affordable, possibly through Auckland’s lines company Vector or others using increasingly cheap solar power and batteries, on the roofs of Auckland’s factories, warehouses and homes.
Use your voting power for the society you want. For more information see here: https://thekaka.substack.com/p/kaka-project-what-could-a-revamped

The Third Demand of Extinction Rebellion Aotearoa:
Go Beyond Politics:
Me hanga, me whai anō Te Kāwanatanga i ngā whakatau a Te Runanga a Iwi, a te kotahitanga o ngā iwi mō te āhuarangi me ngā mōtika o ngā toiora katoa. Kia mau te hira me te oranga ki te tini me te mano puta noa i te ao. (He mea hanga Te Runanga i ngā tāngata korara o tētahi hāpori.)
The Government must assist in the construction and adhere to the decisions reached by citizen assemblies, and the united tribes about the climate and the rights of all life forms. That health, wellbeing and prosperity be secured for the myriad forms of life in the universe. (The citizens’ assembly is established by the residents of a community through sortition.)
