Stop the Cuts: We are keeping up the pressure
Great success. The CABs have been saved.
The water management of the city has been put to 6 years (not 20 years!): opening and realigning streams, more green spaces. I.e. mitigation for the developing climate crisis.
Minimising the climate crisis remains under threat. Transport is the biggest polluter in the city. It needs to transform the transport system to public and electric, and micro-mobility. This also addresses the cost of living as we will not need to own our own car to move around the city.
The sales of the Airport Shares remains under threat.
Watch for the call out to support presentations to Council, attendances to critical meetings etc.
Next Action is June 29, 10 am at the Town Hall

Restore Passenger Rail Action
Watch this video to see why this action is being taken.
This is the promised disruptive non-violent civil disobedience promised by XR. We are joining our friends in RPR: https://restorepassengerrail.nz/ and getting the urgency of the climate crisis discussed publicly. Next is to get the politicians to be taking action. In this election years this action is vital.
You can join by attending on of the local in person or zoom talks: Our Responsibility at This Time. Followed by specific non-violent action training. One small step is to make intercity passenger rail an affordable and realistic option for travelling around the country. See https://www.facebook.com/restorepassengerrailnz Or talk with Sarah: 021 121 8856
Plus:
- Planning meetings – help make actions happen 1st & 3rd Mondays 6.30pm Zoom meetings
- Be the minute taker/facilitator
- Be a Red/Green Rebel
- Help with designing and making banners and placards
- Help with the Website/Social media/data bases.
- Help with press releases.
- Do a non-violent action training to get ready for disruptive effective action
- And much more – think of your strengths and talk to us.
