COP26: ‘Inadequate package could still lead to progress’

The deal “requests” countries table each year increasing pledges to reduce emissions in line with the science of keeping the rise in global temperatures below the climate tipping point of 1.5C. Countries are also requested to give evidence their policies are delivering on their pledges.

November 10 2021: Climate Action Tracker’s report found that based just on current climate policies, and not proposals, temperatures will increase a drastic 2.7 degrees by 2100. It concluded that the final stages of COP26 need to focus on increasing ambitions for 2030 mitigation goals and closing the necessary finance gap.

Are you ready to join the Rebellion for Life as we the people of the world force the political will to meet the 1.5 degree target?

Taking the Rebellion into Court

November 26th 9 am.

The three arrested REBELS are challenging Court to see the real Wilful Action of ANZ and other banks investing in fossil Fuels.

You are needed at Court supporting the Red Rebels, as banner holders, placard holders and leafleters. It is only with enough of us showing a lot of interest at this Court appearance that the media will take any notice. You just being there (with whanau/friends) is very important.

Poster Runs

Join a band of Rebels or make it a protest of one. We have hundreds of posters inviting people to join the Court action, Nov 26th. Over this weekend Rebels are doing poster runs in all the inner city suburbs. At a time that suits you. Ask a friend to help you. Or join a Rebel Team. If you want posters in your suburb let us know. We will help you to get these posters out.

Text Caril on 0211883933 to join the fun.

We need a Photographer

Can you take photos and/or videos at the Court Action Friday 26th? This will be a fabulous visual action. We need to get it on the social media, website etc. We need to show it to the mainstream media.

Is this how you can help the Rebellion for Life? Please email us or text Caril 0211883933.

Red Rebels

Red Rebels will be out Nov 26th 9 am at Court, Albert St, and December 10th.

Do you enjoy a little drama? Want to be part of street theatre? This maybe your place in the Rebellion.

To join, you will need to have red long sleeved T shirt and trousers (we may have some available). You need to enjoy street theatre, walking very slowly up and down stairs with good balance. We also need a volunteer to help with the organizational side of the Red Rebels. Please watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGPv0wALfWw If this is you, please text Margaret 0224743073.

But hurry. We only have gowns for two more Red Rebels.

December Action

Friday December 10 to be confirmed. We will be joining ACA to give Fonterra and/or Genesis a clear message that we don’t want future Summers to be in a post apocalyptic world.

You have seen the outcome of COP 26.

We need to urgently get the political will to take the necessary actions. These are two large companies taking insufficient if any action. Extinction Rebellion is committed to direct disruptive action. Join us to make a difference.
