November 10 2021: Climate Action Tracker’s report found that based just on current climate policies, and not proposals, temperatures will increase a drastic 2.7 degrees by 2100. It concluded that the final stages of COP26 need to focus on increasing ambitions for 2030 mitigation goals and closing the necessary finance gap.

We will not accept this lying down. We will cause disruption, targeting the corporations and Governments that has taken the world to this point of danger. We ask you to join us. There is a role for everyone.

Devonport Paint and poster run

North Shore Rebels. This is your opportunity.

Saturday 13th 5.30 am. We need people to hold the stencil (its big!) people to glue up posters, and hand out leaflets.

Phone Gill 021869677 for details and how to help let people know the COP 26 needs to follow the science to keep the planet within the 1.5 degrees of the Paris Agreement: Zero Emissions 2025.

Bring and share breakfast on the beach with fellow Rebels.

Taking the Rebellion into Court

November 26th 9 am.

You are needed in Court to fill the public gallery; outside for Red Rebels, banner holders, placard holders and leafleters. It is only with enough of us showing a lot of interest at this Court appearance that the media will take any notice. You just being there (with whanau/friends) is very important.

We are challenging Court to see the real Wilful Action of ANZ and other banks investing heavily in fossil fuels.

See here for the so called wilful damage: https://www.facebook.com/XRAuckland/photos/a.2007078839600458/2668179746823694/

December Action

Friday December 10 to be confirmed. We will be joining ACA to give Fonterra and/or Genesis a clear message that we don’t want future Summers to be in a post apocalyptic world.

Auckland Council is planning for a 3 degree postindustrial temperature rise. This means many homes being flooded out, cliff top houses falling in to the sea, crop failures through droughts and floods, causing food shortages etc.

We need to urgently get to zero emissions to prevent us the people from suffering through corporate greed. These are two large companies taking insufficient if any action and are blocking action to honour the Paris Agreement.

Extinction Rebellion is committed to direct disruptive action. Join us to make a difference.

Red Rebels

Red Rebels will be out Nov 26th 9 am at Court, Albert St, and December 10th.

Do you enjoy a little drama? Want to be part of street theatre? This maybe your place in the Rebellion.

To join, you will need to have red long sleeved T shirt and trousers (we may have some available). You need to enjoy street theatre, walking very slowly up and down stairs with good balance. Please watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGPv0wALfWw

If this is how you can help the Rebellion, please text Margaret 0224743073.

Graphic design skills?

We are losing our wonderful Ross as he moves forward positively in his career. If you have even basic graphic design skills the Rebellion needs you. Immediately needed are more badges, leaflets, poster and banners. If this is you please contact us.

Can’t join actions?

Help financially.

Thank you to everyone who has made a donation. We have been able to make the Badges, buy chalk, spray paint, and get posters printed in the lead up to the Court Action. Your contributions are making a big difference. 2022 is shaping up to be a critical year. The more financial resources we have the more we can do to get the political will to follow the science to avoid the worst of the climate crisis.
