Devonport Paint and poster run

North Shore Rebels. This is your opportunity.

Saturday 13th (Covid Alert Levels Allowing). Early. We need people to hold the stencil (its big!) and people to glue up posters.

Phone Gill 021869677 for details and how to help let people know the COP 26 needs to follow the science to keep the planet within the 1.5 degrees of the Paris Agreement: Zero Emissions 2025.

Then a breakfast with fellow Rebels.

Arrests for painting the footpath!

Get ready to support the Rebellion in Court November 26th 9 am.

Apparently, it is Wilful Damage to paint on footpaths! We think about the wilful damage to the planet done by ANZ bank so told the people entering the building that we need zero emissions by 2025 to prevent ecocide.

Your support is needed in Court to fill the public gallery. Outside for Red Rebels, Banner holders, placard holders and leafleters. It is only with enough of us showing a lot of interest at this Court appearance that the media will take any notice. You just being there (with whanau/friends) is so important.

Spring Rebellion

From Otautahi (Christchurch) Newsletter:

It’s all interrelated: Business As Usual no longer works

As a society we have NO way of tackling carbon emissions, methane emissions from cow overstocking, or biodiversity collapse in time UNLESS we move rapidly from our current economic and political system that prioritises corporate vested interests and their need for endless ‘resource extraction’ and ‘growth’, to one prioritising human needs for income and housing security, health and happiness of whānau, and a non-exploitative relationship to all other life on this one precious planet we have.

Extinction Rebellion acted in partnership with Te Waka Hourua to place mana whenua, tiriti justice and new forms of governance at the heart of our Spring Rebellion.

Red Rebels

Red Rebels are needed Nov 26th 9 am at Court, Albert St. There’s room for more in the team.

Do you enjoy a little drama? Want to be part of street theatre? This maybe your place in the Rebellion.

To join, you will need to have red long sleeved T shirt and trousers (we may have some available). You need to enjoy street theatre, walking very slowly up and down stairs with good balance. We also need a volunteer to help with the organizational side of the Red Rebels. Please watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGPv0wALfWw If this is you, please text Margaret 0224743073.

COP 26: Rise up for the Climate Nov 3-7

Join us doing some serious cheeky fun to let the Government, Council, recalcitrant countries and population know that

We must get to zero emissions by 2025

to keep to less than 2 degrees

postindustrial planetary temperature rise.

Given we change to Covid Alert Level 3 Step 2 on Tuesday night we can meet in groups of up to 25. Let us know that you can join in flash stenciling and poster runs with fake blood and fake oil. As we hear of the countries at COP 26 that are putting business as usual ahead of keeping the planet livable, we will give their consulates an XR treatment.

Masks will be worn at all times. We expect that everyone is Vaccinated.

Oi Musica

This piece of music has been composed with the express purpose of inviting choirs, street bands and community groups to learn and perform it, and join an exciting, collective musical response to the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) which will be held in Glasgow in November 2021.

Go Hard Go now

Edna has composed, for when the Open Letter was presented at Parliament, a song with help from Song Writers for Climate Action www.holdingspaceaotearoa.org. Listen, enjoy and sing along.
