Our International Week of Rebellion was a huge success. Now we’re using that momentum to change the world.
Last week, dozens of our activists were arrested after blocking roads and occupying business centres in central Wellington. We joined with XR rebels from all over the world in refusing to take the destruction of our planet lying down. This week we’re keeping that awesome energy going with a new members’ social and spooky Halloween-themed action.
What’s coming up
All events are listed here and on facebook.
Wednesday 16th October: New Members’ Social
If you’re curious about joining the Rebellion, this is the event for you! We’ll be having an informal catch-up where you can meet your fellow rebels and hear what they have to say. Long-time members are also warmly welcomed.
Fhloston Paradise, 44 Ponsonby Road, Auckland, 1011
Thursday 17th October: Weekly Action Group Meeting 6.30-8.30pm (recurring)
We’ll be planning actions for the next few weeks. All members are welcome, though if you’re completely new to XR, you’re encouraged to attend a New Members’ Induction first. Your ideas and enthusiasm are at the heart of what we do, so come along and help out!
AUT, WG Building, Gate 4, Mayoral Drive, CBD. (up the stairs to your right, in the glass rooms on the 4th floor)
Saturday 19th October: Halloween Rebellion
In the spooky spirit, we’ll be staging a zombie apocalypse on Ponsonby Road to draw attention to the deadly consequences of climate change. Let us know on Facebook if you’re able to bring supplies.
Western Park, Ponsonby Road, Auckland, 1011
