Kia ora Wellington friends and rebels.

We’d like to invite you on The Coalest Little Capital Eviction Tour this Saturday, 27th July at 11am at Frank Kitts Park Amphitheatre.

Who is turning Wellington into the Coalest Little Capital – and destroying our climate in the process?

Extinction Rebellion Te Whanganui-a-Tara has created a unique tour of Wellington’s top climate changers, and while we’re at it, we’re going to serve them with eviction notices.

Join us for a one-of-a-kind tour of Wellington and deliver a clear message at the same time (with a little bit of artistic, peaceful, non-violent civil disobedience).

All welcome, join us at Frank Kitts Park Amphitheatre at 11am Saturday 27 July, rain or shine, but bring umbrellas for a photo op!.

You’ll get to visit the coal mining industry leaders, the biggest users and the bureaucrats who are keeping the coal fires burning, adding millions of tonnes of C02 to the atmosphere every year.

Eviction notice 1: Bathurst Resources

Bathurst has joined forces with Talleys to create BT Mining- the company behind most of NZ’s coal extraction – they took more than 2 million tonnes of coal out of the ground in 2017. That’s not cool.

Eviction notice 2: Fonterra!

NZ’s second biggest coal burner, Fonterra dries milk powder and heats the planet at the same time. Nice one Fonterra. In 2017 you were responsible for almost 1 million tonnes of CO2 emissions. Time to ditch those coal burners completely!

Eviction notice 3: Straterra!

These are the mining sector lobbyists, the ones who tell the politicians and the media that it’s more important to mine than it is to have a planet we’ll be able to live on. And there’s no such thing as a climate emergency, right? WRONG, STRATERRA.

Eviction notice 4: Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment!

MBIE hosts the New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals, the government bureaucrats who protect and serve the fossil fuel industry by actively promoting coal production and investment (along with oil and gas) in NZ. Not exactly a public service, is it?

Let’s put climate criminals on notice.

Greenpeace – Peaceful Protest to Evict OMV

Greenpeace are going to serve OMV their eviction notice, and you’re invited!

Join us on August 14 at a location and time TBC in Wellington for a quick briefing, before we walk together to OMV’s HQ at the Majestic Centre to peacefully hand them their notice.

Until now, the Austrian oil giant has been hiding in New Zealand out of sight and mind, but no longer. We tracked their monstrous drill rig as it arrived quietly off the coast of Taranaki last month, and beamed images of it out around the country.

Then a team of climbers scaled the outside of the Majestic Centre all the way up to OMV’s offices on level 20, where they put a call out for everyone to join in and evict OMV.

Now we need your help to deliver an eviction notice OMV won’t forget. Come along on August 14 and tell them their climate-destroying operations are not welcome here, or anywhere!
